In his own words: “In late 2003 I started toying with the idea of becoming a helicopter pilot. After several months of research on my options in terms of different flight schools, I had decided Civic Helicopters was the place to be. My first flight in a helicopter took place in March 2004 in a Robinson R22. Over the next year and a half I had worked my way through my PPL, Instrument Rating, CPL, CFI, CFII and had gained flight experience in the R22, Schweitzer 269C, and R44.
In November 2005 I had the opportunity to be one of the Flight Instructors at Civic, to which I take great pride. For the next year and a half I was able to pass down the wisdom I gained from Chin and the other great flight instructors that I had to my students to help them obtain their goals.
During my time at Civic, the other instructors and the office staff had become a small work family. We still keep in touch and some of whom I still fly with today.
In March 2007 I was hired on by PHI Inc. as a VFR Captain of a Bell 206L in support of the Oil and Gas industry in the Gulf of Mexico. By August 2007 I had become an IFR First Officer in a Sikorsky S-76A++. I used the next year and half flying the S-76 to build my experience flying IFR in preparation for the next step in my career and my goal of being a pilot in the air-medical industry.
In February 2009 I transitioned from PHI Oil and Gas to my current job in PHI Air-Medical. I am now a SPIFR Captain of an EC-135P2+ in Neenah, Wisconsin for the ThedaStar Air-Medical program.”
